NO, planet Earth is not going to explode, BUT if the politicians and people in general continue not to take things seriously, climatic change is going to cause, and with absolute guarantee, an unimaginable disaster, and it may even happen that the planet will change its orbit. Meaning the end of life on Earth.

CLIMATIC CHANGE - THE TRUTH

CO2 AND THE "GREEN HOUSE EFFECT" A HOAX WITH THE MOST SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES

THE MAIN CAUSE OF CLIMATIC CHANGE IS THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TROPICAL FORESTS

The following is an extract from a speech given by Dr. Claes T.G. Linden, President of the Live Planet Foundation, on the 10th of September 2008, during the Summer Courses in Carmona of the Pablo de Olavide University of Sevilla, Spain.

SUMMARY

About 93% of atmospheric CO2 emissions occur in the northern hemisphere and only about 7% in the southern hemisphere with much less land and people.(See diagrams 1 and 2)

CO2 global emissions | Emisiones de CO2 en total mundial CO2 global emissions | Emisiones de CO2 en total mundial

While all the world's windsystems are born at the equator, the systems of the northern and southern hemispheres are rather independent, with no air currents crossing the equator. (See diagrams 3, 4 and 5)

Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios

Thus the exchange of air and gases between the two hemispheres is limited and slow. Consecuently there is much less CO2 in the atmospherte of the southern hemispher.

Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios

In spite of this, the effects attributed to CO2 and "the greenhouse effect", i.e. droughts, floods, strong winds, increased temperatures, melting glaciers, etc, are equally strong in the southern hemisphere, even stronger, than to the north of the equator.

Thus southern glaciers melt twice as fast as in the north and mean temperatures in Antarctica have increased 2,3ºC to 4,5ºC, depending on the source and location. This is 4 to 7,5 times the increase of mean temperatures in the northern hemisphere, 0,6ºC.

Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios

The CO2 / "greenhouse effect" is a scientific impossibility, an enormous hoax which has other objectives:

INTRODUCTION

I have 20 minutes to talk you about CO2 and climatic change. No subject on Earth has ever been of greater importance. Because it may even provoke a change of orbit of the planet and thus destroy all life, man included. We live here today thanks to a very fragile equilibrium of Nature, a Nature which most people, because of anthropocentrism and unrestrained greed, see no reason to respect. Few understand that their own future and that of the whole planet is in the balance.

First, I am going to demostrate that CO2 and "the greenhouse effect" as the origin of today's climatic change is a myth, a scientific impossibility.

Secondly, I will show that the carefully planned destruction of the tropical forests, or rain forests as some call them, is the real cause of global warming.

Let's first examine diagram 1 and 2. They show that at least 93% of world emissions of CO2 occur in the northern hemisphere.

CO2 global emissions | Emisiones de CO2 en total mundial CO2 global emissions | Emisiones de CO2 en total mundial

Only some 6 - 7% are emitted in the southern hemisphere. This is quite logical because here there is much less land, fewer people, few industries and very few cars compared with the North.

Now, let's look at diagrams 3 - 5 showing models of the wind systems of the planet. All the world's wind systems originate in the equatorial belt, where the planet receives the maximum of solar energy. At the same time all the diagrams make it very clear that there are no wind currents crossing the equator.

Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios

Thus there is very little interchange between the atmospheres of the two hemispheres, and what there is is very slow. Because of this it has been recommended to take refuge in the southern hemisphere in case of nuclear war or accident in the northern hemisphere.

In the past sailing ships feared venturing into equatorial waters where the absence of winds risked leaving them adrift, sometimes for weeks.

At this point I want to recall that official measurements of atmospheric CO2 content are made at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii, north of the equator. These are the figures used and misused by the proponents of the CO2 / "greenhouse effect" theory.

Wind interchange between the hemispheres | Intercambio de vientos entre los hemisferios

But the difference in CO2 emissions to the north and to the south of the equator is very great, 93% versus 7%. And there is very little exchange of air between the two hemispheres.

Considering these well established scientific facts, can anyone explain to me how it is possible that the effects of what is attributed to CO2 and "the greenhouse effect", droughts, torrential rains and floods, increased temperatures, increased wind strength, melting of glaciares, etc, are equally strong, even stronger to the south of the equator, with less atmospheric CO2??

THE TRUTH

The droughts in Southern Africa have been monumental, just as in south America. The glaciars in South America are melting twice as fast as in Alaska. (See diagram 6)

Glaciars Melting | Deshielo

According to the "Atlas of Climate Change", Dow and Downing, Earthscan, 2006, the mean temperature in the Antartic has risen by 2,3ºC, four times more than the world mean, 0,6ºC. In a BBC program a representative of the British Antarctic expedition informed that the mean temperature in the Antarctic had risen 4,5ºC, i.e. 7,5 times the world average, for which the scientists could find no explanation.

With less CO2 in the southern hemisphere and with the CO2 / "greenhouse effect" theory there is no explanation possible. But if one accepts that the destruction of the tropical forests is at the root of today's climatic change the explanation is simple.

I think everyone can see the logic in this. All these climatic changes cannot be the result of a supposed "greenhouse effect" due to CO2.

And, said in parenthesis, they cannot be the result of a hypothetical increase in the energy output of the sun, because, due to the inclination of the Earth's axis, the southern hemisphere receives slightly less solar energy than the north, and the effects could not be stronger in the south.

In the CO2 / "greenhouse effect" theory there is no logic. It's a fantasy, an enormous swindle, a hoax if you want.

The whole matter is extremely complex involving also financial manipulations, military and political strategy, and very important, fundamentalist religious strategy; very simplified, it has the following primary objectives:

THE EXPLANATION

The tropical forest, far away though they are, have a profound influence on life on Earth, although few people realize this. Their systematic, planned destruction is the real cause of today's climatic change, with disastrous consequences for the whole world.

Let´s first examine their influence on local continental climates, taking Africa as an example.

Rain Forests, Fountain of life | Bosques tropicales, Fuente de vida

When the winds from the Atlantic, charged with humidity, encounter the forest, turbulence is created and rain falls. This water is evaporated by the forest, forming clouds which the winds carry further inland. The clouds are progressively saturated by evaporation from the forest until rain falls again. This water is again evaporated, forms clouds, etc.

Thus, where the forest exists, the rainwater is repeatedly recycled, not only maintaining humidity within the forest areas, but rainwater recycled from the forest reaches far beyond the limits of the forests.

When the forest is devastated, this small miracle of Nature is interrupted, and here is the cause of the enormous droughts Africa has known since the first megadrought in Ethiopia in the 80's. Big rivers like the Niger and the Limpopo ran completely dry for the first time in memory.

The same has happened in Brazil, where large populations lacked even drinking water, as well as in other Southamerican countries.

Children sufering | Sufrimiento humano

President Lula da Silva of Brazil, the presidents of the two Congos, Nsasso Ngesso, and Joseph Kabila, as well as the leaders of many other countries in America, Africa and Asia, who are allowing the destruction of their forests, are effectively destroying and ruining their own countries for a pity of money and popularity hoy, and assuring their future control by foreign powers.

But still worse, they are creating today's climatic change and putting the whole world in danger.

The decisive influence of the tropical forests on local continental climates is well documented and recognized. They also have a crucial influence on the world climate, and this is less well known. We appear to know more about planet Mars than about our tropical forests.

The enormous importance of the tropical forests, distinct from more northerly forests, is derived from the fact that they are situated in the equatorial belt, where all the wind systems of the planet are born, and where the planet receives the maximum of solar energy, and to the enormous volume of the dense mass of trees, often 30 - 40 m tall.

The tropical forests function as enormously efficent heat sinks, absorbing the solar energy during the day, slowly releasing it as heat during the night. Thus, where the forest exists, the difference between day and night temperatures is small, 20 - 22ºC during the night, 27 - 28ºC during the day, while in nearby savannah areas day temperature often reach 45ºC or more, while nights can be quite cool.

Savannah, the end | Sabana, el final

As the temperature, or energy, gradient between day and night is very small, strong winds are not created. In the tropical forests strong winds as in Europe are totally unknown. The tropical forests thus have very much the same effect as the sea in the equatorial belt.

Much of the heat energy absorbed and then reselased by the tropical forests during the mostly windless nights disappears into space and does not contribute to the warming of the planet. This is enormously important.

I recall what was said previously, on the equator there is little wind movement, and what there is is weak. When the forest is devastated and the land is converted into savannahs, pasture or soybean cultures all this changes. The soil and the short vegetation which substitutes the 30 - 40 m tall trees have very little capacity to store energy.

Instead it now functions like a mirror, reflecting nearly all the solar energy received during the day directly back into the air above, causing intense heating of the atmosphere.

The energy which previously was stored by the forest and slowly released towards space during the night, and was thus lost from the planet, is now added to the warming of Earth's atmosphere. This new injection of energy into the world's atmosphere now causes stronger and warmer winds.

With the destruction of the tropical forest, not only are stronger and hotter winds caused during the day, but a strong energy diferential is created between hot days and cool nights, further accelerating wind movements.

The strong warm winds created following the disappearence of the forest in the equatorial belt frequently by-pass the normal Hadley cells, or convection belts, reaching even all the way to the poles, sometimes even displacing arctic air masses, pushing them down over America and Europe.

In Spain for example, according to information from the University of Granada, wind strength has increased some 50% during the last 10 years. Winds are at the same time getting warmer and warmer due to more and more tropical forest destruction.

Here is the true cause of at least most of today's climatic change.

THE FUTURE

Because it will have dramatic consequences for the world's future within the next 10 - 20 years, I wish also to refer to the direct effect the destruction of the tropical forests has on Antarctica.

Destruction of Antarctic | Destrucción de la Antártida

There are an estimated 13 million square kilometers, or 1,3 billion hectars, of ice with an average thickness of 3 kilometers. Jacque-Yves Cousteau, the famous French oceanographer, calculated that when it all melts, the seas will have risen some 40 m.

Destruction of the tropical forests | Tala incontrolada

Stronger and warmer winds now reach all the way to the South Pole, beginning to melt this enormous ice mass. As we have seen previously mean temperatures in Antarctica have already risen between 2,3ºC to 4,5ºC, depending on source or location, about 4 - 7,5 times the mean temperature increase in the northern hemisphere, 0,6ºC.

This has enormous consequences for the ocean currents, for the temperatures and salinity of the sea water, for plankton, fish, etc.

The seas have already risen some 20 cm. When the seas rise, the pressures on the tectonic plates change, and this provokes earthquakes

As the seas continue to rise, earthquakes are getting more frequent and stronger. Although the rise of the seas so far is only some 20 cm we have already had the three strongest earthquakes ever, 9,2 on the Richter scale.

The last, in Indonesia, even caused a small change in the inclination of the Earth's axis.

Terrible earthquakes | Terremotos

But the destruction of the tropical forest continues unabated, the winds will increase in strength and become warmer and warmer, they will melt more and more ice more and more rapidly, enormous ice blocks will slide into the sea. The seas will rise causing more and still stronger earthquakes.

They will not only cause changes in the inclination of the Earth's axis, but may well cause changes in the Earth's orbit. (Remember that in its geological history Earth has had major changes in the inclination of its axis four times and changed its orbit twice. What can happen twice can happen a third time).

And then the Solar System will have yet another dead planet like Mars.

MY QUESTIONS

Dr. Claes Linden

I have two questions:

First, the tropical forests are the natural habitat for over 60% of all live species on Earth. Can man have the right to destroy their habitat and exterminate this life which has been created and existed since millions of years because of religious fanatism and multinational greed?.

This is what is being done today, the most horrific genocide in the history of man, added to yet another horrific genocide of man himself, a return to pure barbarity.

Live planet foundation | Fundación planeta vivo

I don´t know what you think, but my own answer is an emphatic NO, it is an insult to the dignity of human beings. And it may very well end up, in few years, by causing the end of man himself.

Live planet foundation | Fundación planeta vivo

And the second question: All this considered, ought we not all, everyone, do something about this?

And now it´s up to you to draw your own conclusions.

SOLUTIONS?

There is only one solution possible.

IF ONE WANTS TO SAVE THIS PLANET FROM DISASTER: STOP ALL FURTHER DESTRUCTION OF THE TROPICAL FORESTS IMMEDIATELY AND EFFECTIVELY.

This could be achieved by very few organizations in this world, one possibility being UNESCO through the General Assembly of the United Nations.

On the 23rd of September, 2007, when Nature's day was celebrated in Sevilla, Spain, we handed the Manifest, which follows in translation, together with 1750 signatures (collected in Sevilla, Spain, by several associations in favour of Nature), and documentation both in Spanish and English proving the falseness of the CO2 / "greenhouse effect" theory to the representatives of UNESCO in Sevilla for their transmission to UNESCO's office in Madrid for onforwarding to the Director Genereal of UNESCO in Paris.

We are still hoping for an answer!!

URGENT - MANIFEST TO SAVE LIFE ON EARTH - URGENT

We, the undersigned,

CONSCIOUS of the great danger threatening our whole planet, to a great extent due to the systematic destruction of the tropical forests, regulators of the world's climate,

CONSCIOUS of the fact that the subsequent warming of the Earth endangers the survival of man himself,

CONSCIOUS of the fact that the tropical forests are habitat for more than 60% of all living species on our planet, and that their destruction constitutes the most horrifying extermination of life in the history of mankind,

CONSIDERING inacceptable in a modern, civilized world that the tropical forests all over the world are being destroyed without any concern for their fundamental function in the life cycle of the world and in maintaining the fragile equilibrium of the environment of the planet, and,

CONSIDERING consequently that the destruction of the tropical forests constitutes a serious and intolerable agression against our planet, threatening the survival of man as well,

WE REQUEST UNESCO, the United Nations, the European Union and all the world's governments to take the necessary measures in order,

THAT all the tropical forest of the world, WITH THE UTMOST URGENCY, BE DECLARED HERITAGE OF MANKIND OF FUNDAMENTAL IMPORTANCE FOR THE SURVIVAL OF ALL LIFE ON EARTH

THAT with maximum rapidity all the world's tropical forests be provided with efficent and total international protection,

THAT to this end be created a new mixed international force of "GREEN HELMETS" highly mobile, provided with the most modern equipment and means, and stationed in all tropical forest areas in order to guarantee their real protection, - i.e. if we want to survive,

THAT all those recently destroyed forest areas still capable of self-regeneration should be allowed, even helped, to regenerate, irrespective of their present use, thus trying to maintain the tropical forest areas as large as possible,

Unesco's certificat | Diploma de Unesco

THAT the world community compensates the states concerned for their consequent loss of income from the forest areas thus protected, providing as well the necessary financial and specialized technical assistance for alternative and sustainable development projects, with total respect for the integrity of the forest areas. Such assitance should mostly be centered on reforestation projects and projects to rehabilitate savannahs and now degraded previous pasture and agricultural areas and their return to forest or agricultural use, and

WE FINALLY DECLARE THAT SAVING THE TROPICAL FORESTS, REGULATORS OF THE WORLD CLIMATE, IS AN INESCAPABLE DUTY AND OF EXTREME URGENCY ,- IF REALLY WE ARE INTERESTED IN SURVIVING.

(end manifest)

WE KNOW, THE MISGUIDED CO2 PROPAGANDA IS VERY STRONG AND BACKED BY A LOT OF MONEY, BUT WE NEVERTHELESS HOPE "THE UNITED NATIONS, EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATION", UNESCO, WILL EXAMINE WHAT WE ARE SAYING AND THEN DRAW THE NECESSARY CONCLUSION - and perhaps even answer us.

NOW, WHAT CAN YOU DO?

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO DO.

The world is in real danger now. Small, local projects no longer have any sense. The problem must be attacked at its root, and with extreme urgency.

We would like to join together four, five people who really believe in Nature and all Life on Earth, have the necessary education and experience, (some ought to speak French as well as English), and could sustain themselves for some time, form a kind of "think tank", analyze what is happening to the world, draw the necessary conclusions (but free from any political dogmas) and draw up a plan of action, centered on using all possible means of comunicaciton to draw the attention of people and world leaders to the real problems of the world and suggest urgent solutions.

It may be utopical, but ignorance and greed is rapidly leading us to globalized Apocalypse and we think it must be tried.
